Willard Roberts

     Graveside services for Willard "W.J." Roberts, 75, of Nampa, who died Thursday, June 18, at Cascade, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
    Members of Colonel Stotsenberg Post No. 3465, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nampa, will officiate.  Arrangements are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Friends may meet at the cemetery.
    Mr. Roberts was born Dec. 13, 1911, at Cynthiana, Ky., to Willis and Myrtle Haley Roberts and was reared and educated in Kentucky.  He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935 and came to Nampa where he worked for six years at Lake Lowell.
    He married Lillian V. Prall Aug. 2, 1938, at Caldwell where they made their home.  He worked for the Troy Laundry for a time prior to serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.
    He worked at the Hagerman dam for three years.  They moved to McCall where he worked as a carpenter for 26 years.  He retired from the firm of Hollman & William, Contractors, in 1974 and they moved back to Nampa.
    He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.
    He is survived by his wife of Nampa; three brothers, Rankin A. Roberts, Carl Roberts and Miller Roberts, two sisters, Anna M. Roberts and Mary N. Roberts, both of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
    Memorials may be made to a favorite charity or flowers may be sent.
    Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Flahiff Chapel.
