Graveside funeral services
for Lena K. Segura, 83, of Nampa, who died Sunday, Sept. 30,
1990, at a Nampa care center will be conducted at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The Rev.
Clare Willcuts, Chaplain at the Sunny Ridge Manor in Nampa
will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Allen Bennett of Nampa.
Services are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel,
Lena was born on Feb. 5, 1907,
at Jewel County, Kansas, to Irvin and Grace Turner Kivett.
She was reared and educated in Northbranch, Kan., attending
the Friends Academy there. In 1926 she moved with her
family to Newberg, Ore. She graduated from high school
there in 1928 and later attended George Fox College. She
married Luis Segura at the Friends Church in Newberg on April
6, 1947. They then moved to Nampa where they have since

member of the Friends Church. While in Nampa she was
associated with the Spanish Church of the Nazarene. Lena
loved children. She was very fond of her flowers and her
garden and enjoyed sewing.
survived by her husband Luis of Nampa; two sisters, Mrs. Doris
K. Hampton, Newberg, Ore., Mrs. Alice Pearl Pearson, Forest
Grove, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Rosetta Kivett, Cottage
Grove, Ore.; three nephews, three nieces and several
godchildren, including Connie Garcia and David Trejo. She was
preceded in, death by her parents, one sister, Vera Gladys and
one brother, Earl.
