Funeral services for
Alys E. Bishop, 69, of Caldwell, who died Saturday, Jan.19,
1991, at the Caldwell hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Officiating will be the Rev. Raymond Thompson of the United
Methodist Church of Caldwell. Interment will follow at
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mrs. Bishop was born Sept. 25, 1921, In Osborne County,
Kan., a daughter of Gracen and Opal Wilcoxson Ulmer. The
family moved to Alma, Neb., in 1930 and Alys graduated from
Alma High School in 1939. She came to Idaho in 1943 to
visit her brother, Everett, at which time she met her late
husband, Cyrus.
She married Cryus (sic) W. Bishop Oct. 6, 1943, in
Caldwell. They ranched in Idaho and Oregon for 43 years.
Two children blessed this home, Bonnie and Wayne. Their
first home was near Adrian, Ore., later moving to a cattle
ranch on Succor Creek where they live for 13 years. In
1959 the family moved to the Caldwell area where they had
since resided.
Mr. Bishop died Nov. 2, 1986, in Caldwell.
Alys loved the great outdoors, the land and cattle, but
her family was always the bright light of her life.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and
Don Job of McCall, Idaho; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and
Teri Bishop of Caldwell; a brother and sister-in-law, Dean and
Erma Ulmer of Norton, Kan.; a sister and brother-in-law, Ines
and Jim Olsen of Meridian, Idaho; four grandchildren, Cody,
Cyndi, Karma and Cassie; and a special friend and
sister-in-law, Elaine Jorgenson of Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cyrus, two
brother and a sister. |
