Irene DeBruler

    Ada Irene DeBruler, 79 of Caldwell, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1993, at her home.
     Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2O, at the First Southern Baptist Church, 912 W. Linden, Caldwell. Rev. David Carver and Rev. Gail Graves will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
     Irene was born July 14,1913, at Edgemount, South Dakota to John and Alma Romey. She was reared and educated in Caldwell. She married Earl "Swede" A. DeBruler on May, 10, 1935, in Caldwell.
     She was a charter member of the First Southern Baptist Church where she held several positions. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, Bible school and playing the piano. For enjoyment she liked quilting, tatting and crocheting.
     Up until her retirement in 1975, she worked as a head cook at Van Buren and Lincoln schools and served the first hot meal at the Notus High School in 1944.
    Irene is survived by her son, Raleigh of Auburn, Wash; two daughters, Dolores Martin and Mary Reeves, both of Caldwell; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Billy
Earl of Caldwell, her husband four brothers and three sisters.
     Friends may call at Flahiff Funeral Chapel Tuesday from 3 until 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund.
