Josephine Dunham

    Funeral services for Josephine B. Dunham, 86, Nampa, who died Friday, March 22, at her home, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday, March 23, at the Alsip Funeral chapel, Nampa, with Dr. John W. Wallace of Nampa officiating.  Private family interment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    She was born on Nov. 8, 1898, at Brown City, Mich.  After moving to and living in Kansas for a few years, she moved with her family to Big Piney, Woy., where she was reared and educated.  She taught in rural schools until her marriage to Marshall Gordon Dunham Sr. on Jan. 1, 1922, At Daniel, Wyo.  They made their home in Wyoming until 1925 when they moved to Twin Falls, where they farmed.  In 1939, they moved to Lakeview, Ore., where they continued farming and also ranched.  While in Lakeview, she was a member of the Presbyterian Church and started the town's P.T.A. program.  In 1977, they moved to Nampa, where she was a member of the Nampa First Baptist Church.  She was Oregon Mother of the Year in 1956 and was a 4-H leader for 25 years.
    She is survived by one son, Dr. Daniel B. Dunham of Corvallis, Ore.; two daughters, Barbara Stearman of Dugway, Utah, and Joyce Taylor of Oreana; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a daughter.  Memorials may be made to the Sunnyridge Manor Care Center, 2609 Sunnybrook Drive, Nampa, Idaho, or flowers may be sent.
