Arthur M. Callaway, 90, of Nampa, died Friday, Dec. 9, 1994,
at a Nampa care center. Private inurnment services were held
at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, under the direction
of Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Arthur was born May 23, 1904, at Independence, Calif., a
son of John D. and Estella Robinson Callaway, the first family
to homestead in the Indian Wells Valley in California in
1906. He attended schools in Inyokern, Calif., and graduated
from high school at Bakersfield, Calif., Class of 1924. He
married Lucille E. Bramlette Jan. 23, 1929, at Yuma, Ariz.,
and they made their home in California, Nevada and Idaho.
They were involved in the restaurant business and in ranching
most of their lives. He retired in Nampa in 1978.
He had a great love for livestock, especially horses.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was devoted to his family.
Mrs. Callaway died July 26, 1987.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and
John Moore of Nampa.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a son,
Arthur W. Callaway on May 24, 1983. |
