Clyde E. Cockerham Sr., 87, passed away Aug. 7, 1990, at his
home in Nampa, Idaho. Graveside services were held at
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Nampa.
Clyde was born Aug. 2, 1993, at Pomeroy, Wash. He
married Ursula Clary July 23, 1927, at Corning, Calif.
They moved to Nampa where Clyde attended Northwest Nazarene
College and became a building contractor. He was the
first layman to be licensed in Idaho to teach carpentry.
He built numerous houses in the Nampa area and a Nazarene
church in California. He was Sunday school superintendent and
teacher in many Nazarene churches in Idaho, Alaska and
Survivors include his wife, Ursula; four daughters and
three sons-in-law, Esther Muffett, Rachel and Glenn Knapp,
Lois and Laurie Anderson, Grace and Bruce Peirson; 15
grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Geneva
Orell and Thelma Johnson.
Clyde was preceded in death by his son, Clyde Jr.
Christmas Day 1988.
