Claris Case

     Funeral services for Claris M. Case, 65, a Sunny Slope fruit rancher who died Friday, Sept 1, 1989, in a Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Pastor K.D. Cole of the Deer Flat Free Methodist Church will officiate, with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
     Mr. Case was born April 6, 1924, in Broken Bow, Neb.  The Case family moved to Sunny Slope in 1936.  They subsequently moved to Adrian, Ore., in 1938, where Mr. Case graduated from high school.  Mr. Case served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  After the war he married Beatrice Falen.  He was employed by Falen Fruit Ranch for 40 years.  He was a member of the Idaho State Horticultural Society and served as a leader of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and little league players.  It was said by his father-in-law, Mr. Falen, that there could be no better son-in-law.
     He is survived by his wife, Beatrice, of Sunny Slope; a son, Dennis Case of San Francisco; a son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Tina Case of Idaho Falls; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Steve Swanson of Caldwell; one grandson, Trenton Case of Idaho Falls; tree sisters, Leona Van Matre of Nampa, Mrs. Chester (Minnie) Axtell of Sunny Slope and Bertha Weygand of Marsing; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.  Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
     The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the mountain States Tumor Institute, the Mercy Medical Center Hospice Program or the Boy Scouts of America, c/o Dakan Funeral Chapel, Box 1386, Caldwell, 83606-1386.
