Carrie Betts

    Funeral services for Carrie Betts, 90, of Nampa, who died Saturday, Jan. 5, 1991, at a Nampa care center, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the Nampa Church of the Brethren.  The Rev. Steven McPherson, pastor of the church will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.  Services are under the direction of Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Mrs. Betts was born Feb. 27, 1990, at Russell, Kan., to Horace and Henrietta White Resley.  She grew up and attended school in Russell.  She married George Betts Oct. 22, 1919, in Russell.  They came to Idaho in 1929 and settled in the Lone Tree district.  Mr. Betts died Nov. 20, 1960.
    Carrie was an active member of Nampa Valley Grange, World War I, VFW, Royal Neighbors and a long-standing member of the Brethren Church.
    She was  a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was always there for anyone who needed her.
    She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Marie Betts and George and Mavis Betts, all of Boise; three daughters and two sons-in-laws, Bonita Layher of Caldwell, Myrtle and Lee Bean of Boise and Yvonne and Ed Tullis of Kennewick, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 14 grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild
    Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, her parents, four sisters, four brothers, three half sisters and four half brothers.
