NAMPA - Funeral
services for C. Elmer Allen, 84, formerly of Caldwell Route 2,
who died in a Nampa nursing home Monday following an extended
illness, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Alsip
Funeral Chapel with Dr. James O. York Sr., pastor of the Nampa
First Christian Church, officiating. Interment will
follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Allen was born May 29, 1892, at Oberlin, Kan.
He was reared and attended schools in Kansas and Nebraska.
He was married to Florence M. Fairchild at Julesburg, Colo.,
in 1918. They farmed in Nebraska until 1926 when they
moved to California. In 1928 they moved to the Boise
Valley where they farmed and in later years farmed in the
Lakeview Community. He retired from farming in 1960 when
they moved into Nampa where they have since made their home.
He served in the United States Army during Work War I and was
a member of the American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars and
the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Nampa; four sons,
Stanford E. Allen, Caldwell, Joe B. Allen, North Platte, Neb.,
Dean G. Allen, Spokane, Wash., and Dale E. Allen, Nampa one
daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Elizabeth) Thomas, Caldwell; one sister,
Mrs. Nora Seaman Wiles, Nampa; 18 grandchildren, and 10
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three
brothers and one sister. |
