Services for
Donna B. Dorsey, 61, of Caldwell, who died Tuesday, Dec. 6 at
a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, at
the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The Rev. Orvil E.
Stiles, chaplain of the Idaho Veteran's Home, Boise and the
Rev. Ed Sladek of the Memorial Park Baptist Church, Caldwell,
will officiate.
Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell.
She was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Nampa, a daughter of Charles
and Belle Shroll. She was reared and educated in Nampa
and married Stan Dorsey April 5, 1942, in Murphy.
She was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary for
29 years, holding several offices on the local, district and
state level. She also served as state president from
1962-63. She volunteered over 500 hours at the VA
Medical Center in Boise, and at the time of her death was
serving as treasurer of the local auxiliary and as state
legislative chairman.
She was also the Veterans Administration Volunteer
Service National Representative and Canyon County Director of
the Retired Senior Volunteer Program from 1978-82.
She is survived by her children, Jim and Bonnie Schimmels,
Tom and Christal Dorsey and Joyce Walker, all of Caldwell and
Jim and Marsha Dorsey of Boise; nine grandchildren; a brother,
Willard Shroll of Nampa; four sisters; Marie Weaver, Doris
Brown, Charlene Baltazar and Peggy Ady, all of Nampa; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell
until 8 p.m. today.
