NAMPA - The Rev.
Edward Everett Dixon, 75, 219 22nd Ave. S., died at
a Nampa hospital Wednesday.
Funeral services for him will be conducted at 10 a.m.
Saturday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Mervyn C.
Shay, pastor of the South Side Boulevard Methodist Church, and
the Rev. Herbert Lilly, of the Nampa First Church of the
Nazarene, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest
Memorial Gardens, on Karcher Road.
The Rev. Mr. Dixon was born Feb. 11, 1897, at East
Stroudsburg, Pa. He graduated from Wesleyan University at
Middletown, Conn., in 1919, and entered the missionary program
of the Methodist Church following graduation;
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two
brothers, Paul and Stephen; and by a sister, Elizabeth.
He is survived by his wife Esther, of Nampa; two sisters,
Mrs. Nathaniel Brewer of Newtown, Pa., and Eleanor Dixon of
Philadelphia, Pa.; and a brother, George, of Chicago, Ill. He
is also survived by two sons, Robert M. Dixon of LockHaven,
Pa., and Dr. Paul W. Dixon of Hilo, Hawaii; a daughter, Mrs.
Howard G. Jones of Linwood, Kan; by 10 grandchildren; and by
three foster children, Dr. Eugene Chen, Dr. Paul Wang, and
Laura Yang, R.N. |
