Services for Ethel
Maree Baxter, 65, of Notus, who died Monday, March 14, 1988,
at the veteran's hospital in Boise of natural causes, will be
held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March l4, at the Notus First Baptist
Church. Pastor Robert Obenchain will officiate. Burial will
follow in Lower Boise Cemetery near Parma under the direction
of Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette.
Mrs. Baxter was born Sept. 22, 1922, at Rome, Ga., where
she lived until she joined the U.S. Navy in 1942. While in the
service she met Albert Melvin Baxter whom she married June 1,
1943. After their service duty they moved to Notus, where
they resided for 45 years. She was a member of the First
Baptist Church, Notus.
Survivors include a son, Steve Baxter of Notus; two sons
and daughters-in-law, Jim and Carolyn Baxter of Fruitland and
Mike and Nancy Baxter of Boise; a daughter and son-in-law,
Peggy and Jerry Carver of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Martha
Matthews of New Orleans; a brother, Ben Popay of Rome; four
grandchildren, Jana and Jodi Baxter of Fruitland and Debra and
Jerry Dale of Portland.
Memorials may be made to the Notus First Baptist Church.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Shaffer'
Jensen Chapel, Payette, and Thursday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at
Notus First Baptist Church. |
