Ernest M. Riggs
CALDWELL - Services
for Ernest M. Riggs, 54, Orovada, Nev., who died Thursday in
Winnemucca, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dakan
Chapel by the Rev. Walden Askren of the First Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Born Dec. 8, 1912 in Chase County, Kan., he moved to
Nebraska with his parents when he was an infant. In
1919, the family moved to Parma, Idaho. Mr. Riggs came
to Caldwell in 1930 and married Mary Burton here on Nov. 24,
1934. They lived in the Caldwell-Nampa area until 1956.
Then they moved to Tuscarora, Nev., and to Orovada in 1959.
Mr. Riggs had lived there since. He was a member of the
Caldwell First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, Orvada; a son,
Jimmie of Winnemucca; a daughter, Mrs. Beverly Schmidt
of Caldwell; two brothers, Henry of Nampa and Robert
Riggs of Stratton, Neb.; six sisters, Mrs. Virginia Bow
of Nampa, Mrs. Opal Vincent of Meridian, Mrs. Blanche Pierce
of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Mrs. Beulah Peterson of Parma, Mrs.
Ruth Johnson of Cambridge and Mrs. Mildred Krajnik of Nampa;
a sister-in-law, Thelma Riggs of Caldwell; and a
brother-in-law, Lyman Hanley, Othello, Wash.; six
grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
