W. 'Bill' Divine
for E.W. "Bill" Divine, 78, of Coeur d'Alene, formerly of
Caldwell, who died Saturday, Dec. 11, in a Coeur d'Alene
nursing home, will be conducted l0:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
Parma Cemetery, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel,
He was born April 28, 1904, to Mr. and Mrs. William Divine
in Onawa, Iowa. He moved with his family to Spencer, Iowa
and was reared and educated there. He attended Grinnel
College in Grinnel, Iowa. He lived with his parents in Sioux
City, Iowa, Topeka, Kan., and Albert Lee, Minn., before going
to work for the Hollandale Marketing Association, in
Hollandale, Minn., where he worked for the next 11 years as
general manager. While living in Hollandale, he served on the
school board and was mayor. He married Dorothy Karrett, Sept.
5, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa. They lived in Hollandale, Minn.
for the next ten years. They moved to Caldwell, where he was
employed by Western Idaho Potato Growers as general manager
for one year. They moved to Parma, where he was employed by
J.C. Watson Produce Company as sales manager for 28 years
until he retired. He was a member of the Parma Masonic Lodge
and served on the City Council. After his wife died in 1981,
he moved to Coeur d'Alene.
He is survived by one son, Bob Divine of Post Falls and
