Graveside services for
Fred Deal, 96, of Nampa, who died Wednesday, Jan. 2, in a
Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday in the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Bruce Pauley, pastor of the Howe Community
Church. Howe, Ida., will officiate. Friends may meet at the
cemetery. Services and interment are under the direction of
the Alsip Funeral Chapel. Nampa.
Mr. Deal was born Sept. 28, 1888, in Hamilton County.
Neb., to Milton and Minerva Bogart Deal. He was reared and
attended schools near Stockham, Neb. In 1904 he moved with his
family to Custer County, Neb.
He married Lela Williams on Sept. 30, 1908, in Taylor,
Neb. They farmed near Sargent, Neb., until 1917 when they
moved to Bayard, Neb. In 1925 they returned to Custer County
and resided on the family farm for 48 years.
In 1974 they came to Nampa where they have since made
their home. On Sept. 30, 1984 they celebrated their 76th
wedding anniversary. Mr. Deal was baptized into the
Christian Church in 1932. He is survived by his wife of Nampa;
three daughters. Mrs. Clarence (Grace) Fuller of Lafayette,
Colo., Mrs. Raymond (Pansy) Ralls of Nampa and Mrs. Dave
(Vera) Hughes of Centralia, Wash.; one brother, Orville Deal,
Sargent, Neb.; one sister, Susie Porter, Dresden, Ohio; 10
grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Lloyd, seven
brothers and four sisters. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Don Fuller, Gary Hughes, Ron Ralls, Larry Ralls, Jerry Ralls,
Jim Ralls and Lynn Ralls. Honorary bearers will be Don Isham,
Glenn O'Dell, Orville Nicholson, Lewis Kerfoot, Lloyd Johnson
and Ralph Caldwell.
Memorials may be made to the Intensive Care Unit of Mercy
Medical Center, 1512 12th Ave. Road, Nampa 83651 or flowers
