Grace
M. Cearley, 87, of Ontario, Ore., died Monday, September 9,
1996, in a Payette care center. Graveside services will
be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September, 13, at Parma Cemetery,
Parma, Idaho. Services are under the direction of
Ontario's Lienkaemper Chapel.
Grace was born on July 11, 1909, at Colorado Springs,
Colorado, the daughter of J.E. and Emma Merritt. She was
the youngest of a family of four boys and two girls all whom
have preceded her in death. She moved west with her
family, as a youngster where they settled in the Central
Point, Oregon, area. She married James E. Cearley in
Central Point on June 30, 1929.
They lived in Prospect, Oregon, then at Cottage Grove,
Oregon, before moving to Parma in 1945. Later they moved
to Hayward, California, and retired to Emmett where she was
active in the Senior Citizen and her Church. She was
also active in the Crescent Club in Emmett. A victim of
Alzheimer's disease she lived at Wilsprings in Ontario for a
while and then to Casa Loma as she became more and more
disabled.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law,
Joyce and Bob Calhoun of Emmett, Idaho, Doris Henkel of
Caldwell, Idaho, and Helen and Myron Osborn of Nyssa, Oregon;
ten grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her
husband and one grandson.
Friends may call today, September 12, at Ontario's
Lienkaemper Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m.
