Grace Mae Davis, 90, of Fruitland and formerly of
Caldwell, died Saturday, September 5, 1992 at the Nampa
hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
September 9, 199, at he Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Dr.
Frank Powell of the Canyon Hill Church of the Nazarene will
officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens, Caldwell.
Grace was born January , 192 at Curtis, Nebraska to
Lavern and Stella Snodgrass Spencer and was reared and
educated in Farnam, Nebraska. After graduating from Farnam
High School she taught at a country school in Farnam. She
married Harland Davis on October 9, 1924 at Farnam. They made
their home in Farnam where they farmed until moving to Nampa
in 1939.
In 1950, they moved to Caldwell. They were lifetime
members of the Church of the Nazarene. In July of 1983, they
moved to Fruitland to live with her brother, Dale. After Mr.
Davis died on September 22, 1983, she resided at Meadowbrook
Retirement Center in Ontario, Oregon.
She is survived by two brothers, Dale Spencer of
Fruitland, and John E Spencer of Sterling, Colorado; two
sisters, Eva Goodrich of Paola, Kansas and Nellie Cox of Fair
Hope, Alabama; she is also survived by several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her
parents.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until
9 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. Until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9
a.m. until noon. |
