Helen Cooke

     Services for Helen M. Cooke, 91, Caldwell, who died Monday, Dec. 16, at a Caldwell nursing home of natural causes, were held Friday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel of Caldwell, by the Rev. Dan Trautman of the Caldwell First Christian Church.  Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
     Mrs. Cooke was born June 18, 1894, at Defiance, Iowa.  She moved with her family in 1909, to Waukomis, Okla., where she finished high school. She then attended Phillips University at Enid, Okla.  She taught school in the Waukomis area, and then worked for the Odd Fellows Children's Home at Carmen, Okla.  Later she worked as the girls' supervisor for the Masonic Children's Home in Guthrie, Okla.  She moved to Idaho in 1942, where she met Robert F. Cooke.  They were married Oct. 31, 1945.  They lived and farmed in the Boise Valley until they retired to their home at Caldwell.  Mr. Cooke died Jan. 15, 1984.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, Caldwell.  She loved music teaching and her garden.  She also enjoyed genealogy.
     She is survived by two nieces and four nephews.
     She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
