Ivan Cane

     Ivan D. Cane, 87, of Nampa, died on Friday, Oct. 2 1992 at a Caldwell hospital.  Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1992 at the Alsip Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Milo Wittkopf, pastor of the Franklin Community Church will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Garden, Caldwell.
     Ivan D. Cane was born on Dec. 14, 1904 at Alexandria, Nebraska where he was reared and graduated from high school.  He married Jennie M. Harrold on Dec. 30, 1925 in Alexandria where they farmed.  In 1944 they moved to Star where they farmed until Ivan retired in 1976 and they moved to Nampa.  Ivan enjoyed working in his garden, hunting, fishing and working with wood.  He was a member of the Franklin Community Church where he served on the board for sever years; The Dairymen's Co-op Creamery Board; he served as secretary-treasurer in the Ada County Dairyman's Association; chairman of the Dry Creek Soil & Water Board for 15 years.  He helped form the Boise River Flood Control Dist. No. 10 and served as commissioner and Manager, and also served in the Idaho Association of Soil Conservation District.
     Ivan is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennie M. Cane, Nampa; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Bonita Cane, Fruitland, ID; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeannine and Ken Sadler, Medford, OR; 7 grandchildren, Scott Cane, Terrance Cane, Shawna Paine, Susan Caine, Karey Sadler, Shari Hoffman and Geisle Sadler; 9 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
     The family suggests memorials to the Franklin Community Church, P.O. Box 283 Nampa, ID 83683, to the American Heart Association of Idaho, 3295 Elder St., Suite 140, Boise, ID 83705 or flowers may be sent.
