James Evertz

     Services for James Anthony Evertz, 77, of Nampa, who died Friday, March 28 at home, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 612 C.
Midland Blvd., Nampa.

     Church pastor, Barak K. Anderson will officiate with burial to follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Services and interment are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
     Mr. Evertz was born June 1, 1908 in Minnesota. At an early age he moved with his family to Montana where he was reared and educated.             He married Luella A. Dennis on Oct. 22, 1932 at Mandan, N.D. They lived in Minnesota until 1943, when they moved to Nampa. He worked at the H.H. Keim Meat Packing plant for a few years before going to work for the Union Pacific Railroad. He retired from the UPRR in 1974.
     His wife died in 1933.
     In 1984 he married Edna in Nampa where they made their home. He attended the Trinity Lutheran Church.
    He is survived by his wife of Nampa; a daughter, Margaret (Mrs. Marion) “Peggy” Meyer of Nampa; son, Hubert “Mike” Miller of Lynch-burg, Tenn.; several stepchildren; a brother, Francis Evertz of Terry, Mont.; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
     He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marian Cahoon, in 1972.
     Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to time of services.
