J. Clark Murphy
Services well be
announced by Alsip Chapel for James Clark Murphy, 67, former
Nampa city engineer of 331 Lincoln, Nampa, who died this
morning in the Veteran's hospital in Boise.
Mr. Murphy was born May 2, 1891 in Tacoma, Wash., and
grew up in that area, moving to Nampa in 0907. He
received his engineering degree from the University of
Washington and was associated with the Idaho State Highway
Department from his graduation until 1929. From 1933
until 1942 and again, after serving with the Civil Aeronautics
Administration, from 1945 until 1949 when he came city
engineer for Nampa. He served in that capacity until
1957 when ill health forced his retirement.
He served with the US Army during World War I and was a
40 year member of the Nampa Elks Lodge, 1389, and was a member
the Joseph Murray Post of the American Legion at Nampa.
He had also been employed by Potlatch Lumber Co., as an
engineer at Bovill, Idaho, from 1929 to 1933.
Mr. Murphy married Miss Rosina Clement at Nampa in
March of 1925. Mrs. Murphy survives him.
