Frank Birt

     Services for Frank Birt,89, of Nampa, who died Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Nampa hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
     The Rev. William G. Arthur, former pastor of the Napa First Congregational Church, will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
     Mr. Birt was born May 7, 1898, at Smithfield, Neb., where he was reared and educated.
     He married Odessa Frazell June 2, 1926, at Holdrege, Neb.  They celebrated their 61st anniversary in June.
     Following their marriage, they farmed in Smithfield until February 1936, when they moved to a farm near Nampa.  He farmed for a number of years and then worked for three years for Harold Bailey Construction and two years for Charles Chase before returning to farming.
     In 1953, he retired and they moved into Nampa.
     He loved the land, life, and his family.
     He was a member of the Nampa First Congregational Church.
     He is survived by his wife of Nampa; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Richard Stiehl of Nampa; a sister, Florence Voreis of Westminister, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Birt of Meridian and Kay Birt of Morristown, Ariz.; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
     Memorials may be made to the Nampa First Congregational Church, 1007 Midland Blvd., Nampa 83651; or flowers may be sent.
