James Apland

     Graveside services for James J. Apland, 59, of Caldwell, who died Tuesday, March 17, at a Boise hospital of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
     The Rev. Walter C. Rice of the Faith Lutheran Church, Caldwell will officiate, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Friends may meet at the cemetery.
     Mr. Apland, a retired farmer, was born Feb. 27, 1928, at Des Moines, Iowa, to Joseph E. and Doris Weed Apland.  He was reared and educated in Iowa and moved with his family to Caldwell Jan. 1, 1940.
     He finished his education and joined the service during World War II.  Following his military discharge he returned to Caldwell, where he had since resided.
     he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Dean Griffith of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a friend, Fern Samuels of Caldwell; two nieces; two nephews; and six grandnieces and grandnephews.
     Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Caldwell Flahiff chapel.
