"Manuel" Barroso

   Jose "Manuel" Barroso, 84, of Caldwell, died Saturday, January 20, 1996, at home.  Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. today, January 22, 1996, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caldwell, with Father Enrique Terriquez officiating.  Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
     Manuel was born December 18, 1911, at San Felipe
, Mexico, a son of Victoriano and Tiofila Barroso.  Manuel married Isabel Ortiz on November 11, 1931, at San Felipe, Mexico.  The couple moved to Mercedes, Texas in 1945.  From 1945 until 1962 Manuel and his family migrated from Texas to Idaho.  In 1963 Manuel and his family made Idaho their home.  He was employed by Symms Fruit Ranch until his retirement in 1976.
     He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
     Survivors include his wife, Isabel of Caldwell; three sons, Felipe Barroso of Medelein
, Illinois, Jose C. Barroso of Marsing, Idaho, and Juan Barroso of Caldwell; four daughters, Matilde Placencia, Esperanza Gonzalez , both of Caldwell, Mary Posadas of Redlands, California, and Maria Diaz of Ontario, Oregon; two brothers, Augustin and Guadalupe, both of Mexico; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call today until 8 p.m. at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
