Josephine ‘Jo’ Evans, 80, of Nampa, died on March 16, 1996 at
a Nampa care center. Funeral services will be conducted at
10:30 a.m. March 19, 1996 at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Burial will follow at the Wilder
Cemetery.
‘Jo’ was born Josephine Mary Fox, one of 3 daughters of
Silas “Cy” Fox and Ruth Bernard Fox on Jan. 24, 1916 in Nampa
where she was reared and graduated from Nampa High School in
1936. She married Nathan Pierce “Pete” Kershner on Sept. 1, 1947.
They lived in California for about 4 years while Pete served
in the Navy. While there they had 2 children, Jack and Linda.
Upon his discharge they moved to Idaho, living in Oreana for
about a year. The family later moved to Homedale and Pete died
in 1958.
Jo married Dave “Hal” Evans on July 31, 1971 and they
made their home in Nampa. Hal died in 1987 and Jo made her
home with her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Walt
Nussbacher.
Jo is survived by one son, Jack Kershner of Statford, New
York; a son-in-law, Walt Nussbacher, Nampa; 4 grandsons, 1
granddaughter; 2 step-grandsons and 4 stepgranddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her
daughter, Linda Nussbacher. |
