James Neil Arnold, 54,
of Nampa died Thursday, November 19, 1992 near Garden Valley,
Idaho of natural causes, while hunting. Funeral services
will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 23rd at the Nampa
5th Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on
Sunnyridge Road. Bishop Jay R. Fuhriman of the ward will
officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens, Caldwell. Services are under the direction of
the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mr. Arnold was born December, 31, 1937 at Overton,
Nevada to Albert Theodor and Zelma Nay Arnold. At a
young age he moved with his family to Nampa where he was
reared and educated. When he was a junior in high school
they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he graduated in 1956.
After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was
stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. On
February 22, 1957 he married Betty Anderson in the St. George,
Utah L.D.S. Temple and they made their home in Las Vegas.
After he was discharged from the Air Force he worked with the
sheriff's office until moving to Nampa in 1966. He has
been employed as a water master for the Nampa-Meridian
Irrigation District for the past 20 years.
Mr. Arnold enjoyed sports. He coached little
league football, basketball and baseball. In recent
years he enjoyed umpiring little league baseball games.
He loved fishing & hunting, the outdoors, art, and spending
time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Nampa; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Neil & Jennie of Boise, and Mark & Bobbi of
Portland, Oregon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie &
Jeffery Lang and Cori & Kenneth Norton all of Kuna and Dana &
Dave Jacobs of Boise; a brother Ted Albert of Wyoming;
Mother-in-law & Father-in-law Margery & Gottielb (sic) William
Busch, and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson,
James Neil Arnold, II.
The family will greet friends at the Alsip Funeral
Chapel this evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church
Monday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. |
