John Davidson

      Graveside services for John P. Davidson, 71, of Caldwell, who died Monday, June 30, at a Boise hospital, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
      The Rev. Joseph Housh of the First United Methodist church, Nampa, will officiate, under the direction of the Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
      Mr. Davidson, a retired civil engineer, was born July 31, 1914, at Ellensburg, Wash., to Phillip A. and Norma Morrison Davidson.  He was reared and educated at Ellensburg.
      After spending six years of active duty in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was badly injured and retired a first lieutenant.  He later furthered his education at the University of Oregon, graduating as an engineer, and worked for a number of years in several states, and around the world for the Morrison-Knudsen Co.  He retired in 1981.
      He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and loved the outdoors.
      He is survived by a stepsister, Margaret Brandt of Ellensburg; three cousins, Phillip and Bentley Davidson, both of Ellensburg, and Virginia Spiedel of Moses Lake, Wash.; a second cousin, Bentley Kern of Ellensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by a brother.
