Jesse J. Jessen
Jesse J. Jessen, 81,
of 507 Freeport St., a retired farmer, died Friday morning in
a Caldwell nursing home after a long illness.
Mr. Jessen was born Feb. 2, 1878, in Kolding, Denmark,
and came to the U. S. when he was 19 years of age. He
located at Clinton, Iowa, and later moved to Granada, Colo.,
where he was married Feb. 7, 1903, to Pearl Myers. The
couple homesteaded on land now included in the Black Canyon
District. They moved to the Knowlton Heights community
in 1939 and lived there for 12 years, before moving into
In addition to Mrs. Jessen he is survived by four sons,
David A. and Roy L. Jessen, both of Caldwell; Clifton R.
of Nampa, and Clarence W. Jessen of Marsing; a daughter,
Mrs. Marie Scheufflel of Coeur d'Alne; a sister, Mrs.
Marie Wakeman of Boise, and 13 grandchildren and 20
Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the
Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Interment will be at the
