Services for John F.
"Jack" Allen, 65, of Nampa, who died Wednesday, March 4, at
the Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the
Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, with the Rev. Lowell Byall,
pastor of the Nampa First United Presbyterian Church,
officiating. Chapel Rites will be conducted by the Nampa
BPOE Lodge no. 1389. Interment will follow in the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mr. Allen was born on May 30, 1921, in Nampa, to Hugh
R. and Winnifred Allen. He was reared and educated in
Nampa, graduating from Nampa High School in 1940. He
entered the U.S. Air Force in 1940 and served during World War
II. He married Betty J. Nail in Denver Colo., on Jan. 7,
1943. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and he
returned to Nampa in 1946. He began to apprentice under
his father as a mason and worked in the masonry business for
40 years. He worked on numerous churches, schools, and
commercial buildings in Idaho, Oregon and Nevada. He
retired in 1983. He was a member of the Nampa BPOE Lodge
No. 1389 and the International Bricklayers and Allied
Craftsmen Union.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; a son and
daughter-in-law, Greg and Brenda Allen of Nampa; a daughter,
Pam Johnson of Boise; a brother, Robert H. Allen of Long
Beach, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Rex Allen of Lodi,
Calif.; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one
brother.
