Services for John
Ross, Sr., 77, Lone Star Road, Nampa, a retired farmer, who
died Thursday morning, will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, at the
Alsip Chapel. The Rev. Oscar Brown of the Greenleaf
Friends church will officiate. Interment will be at
Mr. Ross was born April 30, 1882, in Norka, Russia, and
moved to Portland in 1903 with his widowed mother and two
younger brothers. He married Caroline Fleishauer, June
12, 1915 at Portland and they came to Idaho in the same year
and took up a homestead in the Midvale area. They moved
to Nampa 25 years ago. Mr. Ross was a member of the
Nampa Valley Grange and attended the Zion Lutheran church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of Nampa, include
four sons, Walter Ross of Oakland, John Ross, Jr., and Ernest
Ross, both of Caldwell, and Henry Ross of Nampa; three
daughters. Mrs. Betty Urback, Portland, Mrs. Marie Perkins,
Weiser, and Mrs. Helen Heinrich, Cottage Grove, Ore.; one
brother, Henry Ross, Portland, 16 grandchildren and seven
