Louise
l. Deffries, 69, of Nampa, went to be with the Lord on Monday,
April 1, 1996, having passed away at a Nampa retirement
center.
Funeral Services will be con ducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
April 3, 1996, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Rev. Roy
Litsey, pastor of the Bethel Church of the Nazarene will
officiate. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens, Caldwell.
Louise I. Deffries was born on May 18, 1926, in Mt.
Vernon, WA, the daughter of Lloyd and Ina Day. At the age of 2
her family moved to Nampa, Idaho, where she was reared and
attended school. During her junior high school years the
family moved to Yakima, WA. She later returned to Nampa,
graduating from Northwest Nazarene Academy in 1946.
She married Bill Deffries on July 1, 1946. Following
their marriage they lived in several cities in Washington. In
1972 they moved to Cambridge, Idaho, and to Nampa in 1978
where they have since resided. For a number of years Louise
worked as a day-care director. She was a longtime member of
the Church of the Nazarene. She started teaching Sunday School
when she was 14 years old and enjoyed her many years of
working with youth in various programs in church and school.
For several years she also worked as the church wedding
coordinator.
Louise is survived by her husband, Bill Deffries, Nampa;
son and daughter-in-law, John and Sue Deffries, Nampa;
daughter and son-in-law, Robbyn and Rick Lande, Nampa; 2
granddaughters, Lisa and Tiffany Lande, Nampa; 2 brothers and
sisters-in-law, Cecil and Frances Day, Selah, WA, and Earl and
Lula Day, Yucaipa, CA; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn
and John Schweitzer, Nampa, Elsie and Stan Magee, Sumner, WA,
and Ila and Delmar Cherrinton, Nampa.
She was Preceded in death by her parents and an infant
sister.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until
9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
