Laura was born on May 13, 1912, at Nampa, Idaho, the daughter of Daniel Guy Strait and Pearl French Strait.  She was a true Idaho native, growing up on the family farm on Amity Road in Nampa, and living in the area her entire life.  Laura met and married Frank "Tom" Dostal on December 4, 1930, in Nampa.  During her lifetime, she worked at many different occupations, some of which were the Nampa State School and Hospital, Birdseye Foods, Nampa Rollerdome, and most recently as a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center for many years.  Mr. Dostal died on February 17, 1981.  In November of 1993, Laura moved to the Seattle, Washington area to be near her son and family.  Laura will be remembered by those who knew and loved her for her strength and determination, her never-ending concern for those around her, and for the sweet, sweet smiles.  Laura, we love you, love you, love you, and will miss your sorely.
She is survived by her son Joe Dostal and his wife Daryl, Lynnwood, Wash., a granddaughter, Loral Dostal of Lynnwood; a sister, Julia Jensen, Ventura, Calif.; a brother, Bob Strait, Boise, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Bullen and 4 brothers, Frank, Bill, Burt and Sam Strait.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Shapel on Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The family suggest memorial contributions to the Mercy Hospice Program, 1512 12th Ave R., Nampa, ID 83686.
