Matie Caster

     Graveside services for Matie Marie Caster, 96, of Nampa who died Wednesday, Sept. 4, in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Building of Reverence, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  The Rev. David E. Guard, pastor of the Nampa Southside Boulevard United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Friends may meet at the cemetery.  Services and interment are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
     Mrs. Caster was born on Dec. 19, 1888, in Steel City, Neb., to George and Adella Myers.  At the age of 3 she moved with her family by covered to Oberlin, Kan., where she was reared and educated.  It was there that she joined the Methodist Church.  She married Wesley A. Caster on Dec. 20, 1905, in Oberlin.  For the next 30 years they lived in Overton and Lexington, Neb., Albert, Canada and in Colordo.  In 1938, they moved to Nampa, where they made their home.  Mr. Caster died Dec. 4, 1965, and she had resided in Nampa since.  She was a member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Myrtle Rebekah Lodge No. 23 of Lexington, Neb., for more than 60 years.
     She is survived by one son, Gerald A. Caster, Nampa; three daughters, Lucille G. Teets of Lexington, Neb., Maxine L. Chamber of Oberlin, Kan., and Geneva E. Richardson of Nampa; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by one daughter, one grandson, one brother and one sister.
