Graveside services for Margaret O. Yant, 72, of 1124 Garrity
Blvd., Nampa, who died Wednesday, Sept. 5, at a Nampa
hospital, will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Leo W. Reed, pastor of the Nampa First Baptist
Church, will officiate. Friends may meet at the cemetery.
Services and interment are under the direction of the Alsip
Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mrs. Yant was born Nov. 24, 1911, at Cambridge, Neb., to
Clarence and Naomi Beckwith. At a young age she moved to a
farm in the Deer Flat area near Nampa with her parents where
she was reared and educated.
She married Ray O. Yant on March 18, 1937, at Boise and
they made their home in Nampa. They moved to Madras, Ore., in
1970 and then returned to Nampa in 1980. Mr. Yant died May
12, 1982, and she had resided in Nampa since.
She was a member of War Eagles Barracks 459 Veterans of
World War I Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Danny H. Yant, Nampa, and
Raymond Benson, Sacramento, Calif.; three brothers, Leo
Beckwith, Rufus, Ore., Vern Beckwith, Coeur d’Alene, and Cleve
Beckwith, Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Mr. Hilda Severns,
Nampa and Mrs. Betty Hanson, Renton, Wash.; five
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
