Services for Mrs. Mary
Gahley Kemp, 70, of Spokane, Wash., who died Thursday in
Clarkston, Wash., will be conducted at the Parma
Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel at 2 p.m. Tomorrow. The Rev. Wayne
Wardwell of Parma will officiate. Interment will be at Lower
Mrs. Kemp, who became ill and died while visiting with
a sister in Clarkston, was born Sept. 30, 1893, in Milwaukee,
Wis., and came to Idaho in 1904 from Oregon.
She lived in the Ten Davis Community, near Notus, and was graduated
from the former high school in that community. She attended
the College of Idaho and was married Dec. 27, 1914, to Carl
Gahley. Mr. Gahley died in 1929. She was later married to Mr.
Kemp. She moved to California in 1937 and lived there for
several years, prior to moving to Spokane.
She was a past noble grand of Ruby Rebekah Lodge of
Parma, a past president of the Social Circle of Ten Davis
Community and a member of the Spokane Veterans of Foreign Wars
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Gahley of Livermore,
Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Louise Downes of Laytonville, Calif.;
a sister, Mrs. Dewey Holcomb of Clarkston, 12 grandchildren,
and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Bonnie died in
childhood in 1922.
