Memorial services for
Mrs. Macy V. Bowman, 68, of Nampa, who died Thursday, December
12, 1991 at the Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 10:00
A.M. Monday, December 16, 1991 at the Nampa United
Presbyterian Church. Rev. Lowell Byall, pastor of the
church, will officiate. Private interment will be at a
later date in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Macy V. Bowman was born on August 14, 1923 in Mason,
Oklahoma to Denton and Melinda Ballentine Fox. She was
reared and educated in Okema, Oklahoma graduating from Okema
High School in 1940. She worked for the U.S. government
in Washington, D.C. and in 1945 she joined the U.S. Navy.
While serving in the Navy she met Melvin Bowman, whom,
following their discharge, she married on August 29, 1947 in
Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in St. Louis, Missouri
where her husband was attending Washington University Dental
School. Tehy lived in Texas for two years and moved to
Nampa in 1953. They practiced dentistry until 1985.
Dr. Bowman died on August 9. 1988.
She was a member of the Nampa United Presbyterian
Church.
She is survived by; a son, David Bowman; a daughter and
son-in-law, Judy and Kevin Shannon; and three grandsons, Kyle,
Shaun and Jack Shannon all of Boise; three sisters, Ione
"Toots" Pettitt and Veora Lippin, both of California and
Dewell Deaton of Oklahoma.
Besides her husband, whe was preceded in death by her
parents, four brothers, and a sister.
