Services for Mrs. Mamie Ethel Brown, 74, Kuna, formerly of
Nampa, who died Friday June 15 at her son’s home in Boise,
will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Alsip Funeral
Chapel with the Rev. Robert Hines of the Broadway Avenue
Baptist Church, Boise, officiating. Interment will follow in
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell.
She was born Aug. 13, 1909 in Chenoa, Ill., to John
William and Susan I. Scarbury. She was reared and educated in
Chenoa.
She married John Basil Brown Aug. 8, 1928 in Bloomington,
Ill. They farmed in
McLean County, Ill. until 1956 when they moved to Sacramento,
Calif.
In 1970 they moved to Nampa. Mr. Brown preceded her in
death May 4, 1981. She
moved to Kuna in 1982, where she had since resided. She
attended the Broadway Avenue Baptist church in
Boise.
She is survived by one son, Roy L. Brown of Boise; a
daughter, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Bair of Kuna; a sister, Lettie
Jane Anderson of Normal, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, three
brothers and four sisters.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the
Broadway Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 2530 Broadway
Ave., Boise, 83607, or flowers may be sent. |
