Nancy Carter

      Graveside services for Nancy C. Carter, 48, Middleton, who died Sunday, Dec. 12, at a Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, by father John W. Morgan of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caldwell, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral chapel, Caldwell.
     She was born July 29, 1934, at Birmingham, Ala., to Milton and Louise Higgins.  She later moved with her family to Santa Rosa, Calif., and was reared and educated there.  In 1977, she moved to Caldwell and more recently had been living at Middleton.
     She is survived by two sons, James David Carter of Sacramento, Calif., and T.J. Carter of Middleton; four daughters, Elizabeth Coons of Middleton, Judith Ann Moncrief, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., Dora Lynn Glenn of Galesburg, Ill., and Constance K. Caasa of Sebastapol, Calif.; one brother, Milton R. Higgins, Caldwell; two sisters, Hilda Dickerson of Pope Valley, Calif., and Floy S. Coons, Caldwell; one aunt, 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by a sister, Gayle O'Toole.
     Friends may call at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday.
