Opal Deering

     Opal G. Deering, 82, of Caldwell, died Sunday, 9 June, 1991, at home.
   Cryptside services will be held x 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Caldwell. The Rev. Tom Tucker of the First United Methodist Church, Cathedral of the Rockies, Boise, will officiate.   Arrangements are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Mrs. Deering was born Nov. 19, 1908, at Catesby, Okla., a daughter of James Edward and Hester Rosetta Eldred Chance. She was reared and educated in Kansas.  She married Manly H. "Doc" Deering Nov. 18, 1932, at Cottonwood Falls, Kan. The couple farmed there until moving to Caldwell in 1936. She worked for the Caldwell Memorial Hospital, retiring n 1972. Doc died July 3, 1984, and she continued to reside in Caldwell.
   She was a member of the Gem of the Mountain Rebekkah Lodge No. 125, Caldwell, and the Caldwell Senior Citizens.
   Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Zora (Mrs. John) Logan of Boise; a brother, Leo Chance of Lovilia, Iowa two sisters, Viola Jones of Lovilia, and Lola Gumey of Cedar Point, Kan.; a grandson, Andy Logan of Boise; two nephews, Ben and Don Chance, both of Caldwell; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
   The family suggests memorials be given to the Caldwell Senior Citizens or to a favorite charity.
   Friends may call today until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
