Services for Roy A.
Arbaugh, 71, a retired U.S. Forest Service employee, who died
Thursday, March 5, at the Caldwell hospital, were conducted at
3 p.m. Saturday at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, with
the Rev. Chet Kelley officiating. Burial followed at the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mr. Arbaugh was born March 18, 1915, at Ponca Ark., the
son of William Ross and Nora Villines Arbaugh. He was
reared and educated in Arkansas. He married Orpha
Kilgore on March 17, 1936, at Low Gap, Ark. He worked
for the J.R. Simplot Co., in Caldwell, for four years.
He then went to work for the Caldwell Fire Department where he
worked for six years. He also worked as a building
contractor for many years. In 1962 he went to work for
the U.S. Forest Service in the Boise National Forest, where he
worked until his retirement in 1974. He married Ruby
Driskell on Nov. 7, 1978, at Wilder. He enjoyed camping,
fishing, hunting, wood cutting, the out-of-doors and
raising honey bees.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby, of Caldwell; a son,
Jack of Caldwell; two daughters, Evelyn Johnson and Shirley
Alfrey, both of Craig, Colo.; a step-daughter, LaNeva Sorrell
of Wilder; two brothers, Conard Arbaugh of Texas, and Gene
Arbaugh of Emmett; three sisters, Rosa Cody and Rova
Scroggins, both of Caldwell and Edith Dean of Boise; eight
grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one
step-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Orpha, and his parents.
