Funeral services
for Ruth Jean Lafferty, 97, of Caldwell, who died Friday, Feb.
16, 1990, at a Caldwell nursing home, will be conducted at 2
p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel,
Caldwell. The Rev. Jim Hardenbrook of the First Christian
Church, Caldwell, will officiate with lodge rites by Gem of
The Mountains Rebekah Lodge No. 5 and Hermosa Chapter No. 32,
Order of the Eastern Star. Private interment will follow at
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell.
Mrs. Lafferty was born Oct. 6, 1892,
at West Farmington, Ohio, a daughter of Rolland and Harriet
Oliver. She married Therron F. Lafferty on April 18, 1920, in
Caldwell. Ruth worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Gigray
for many years. Mr. Lafferty died in August 1978. Ruth
enjoyed horses and baking cookies for the neighborhood.
Ruth was a member of the First Christian Church,
Caldwell, Order of Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are a brother-in-law, George Lafferty of
Portland, Ore.; a half brother, Jerry Oliver of National City,
Calif.; a nephew, Frank Joiner of Carson City, Nev.; and many
friends including the Stan and Beth Whitney family of
Caldwell.
Memorials may be given to a favorite charity, or flowers
may be sent. |
