Broadus, 72, of Nampa, died Sunday, November 17, 1991, at a
Nampa nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00
p.m.
Wednesday, November 20, 1991,
at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Rev. Allen Nelson of
Caldwell will officiate. Private interment will follow at
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell.
Mr. Broadus was born March 2, 1914, at Norwood,
Missouri, to Joe and
Bertha Broadus. He was educated in Norwood and Kansas City,
Missouri. In September
of 1942 he joined the Naval Air Corps and served for four
years. After his discharge from the military he returned to
Kansas City where he lived and traveled as a hardware salesman
until 1959 when he bought a hardware store in Topeka, Kansas.
He married Hazel McKee Pennington in 1946. They resided in
Topeka until his retirement in 1976 when they moved to
Caldwell.
Mr. Broadus joined Rosedale Masonic Lodge in Kansas City
in 1948. He transferred his membership to Mr. Moriah Lodge
#39 A.F.&A.M. in Caldwell, in 1976.
He is survived by three brothers, Joe Broadus of
Sacramento, Ca., Lynn Kesner and Fred Kesner, both of
Caldwell; four sisters, Nell Marie Miller of Nampa, Katheryne
Holliburton of Kansas City, Kansas, Eudora Terry of Caldwell
and Opal Payne of Appleton City, Missouri; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dakan Chapel in Caldwell from
4:00 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00
p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or to a
favorite charity. |
