Therin Briggs

    Services for Therin “Jim” Briggs, 79, of Nampa, Who died Tuesday, Jan 7, in the Nampa hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Nampa Third Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
     Bishop Mark B. Johansen will officiate with private family committal services to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
     Mr. Briggs was born May 3, 1906, at Syracuse, Utah, to Thomas E. and Malinda Cook Briggs.  He was reared and educated in Davis County, Utah.
     He married R. LaRue Jenkins of Plain City, Utah, Sept. 11, 1929, in the Salt Lake Temple.  They made their home in Syracuse, Utah, until 1944 when they moved to Nampa.

     He farmed north of Nampa for many years.
     He is survived by his wife of Nampa;    four daughters, Geraldine (Mrs. Pat) Robb of Seattle, Wash., Lois (Mrs. Dale) Jones of Nampa, Kaye (Mrs. Robert) Stewart of Boise, and Patricia (Mrs. Robert) Kerbs of Twin Falls;  a brother, Elton Briggs of Syracuse;  13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, six sisters, and a great-grandson.
