Services for Verla Christensen, 71, of Middleton, who died
Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the Caldwell hospital, will be conducted
at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Caldwell North Stake Center Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Joe Roberts of
the Middleton Third Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints.
Burial will follow at the Middleton Cemetery, under the
direction of the Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Caldwell.
Mrs. Christensen was born on Oct. 8, 1914, at Weston,
Idaho. She was reared and educated there and graduated
from high school in 1933. She attended and graduated
from Utah State Agriculture college in 1938. She later
attended Rick's College. She taught school in the
Preston area for 10 years.
She married J. Leon Christensen on July 21, 1949. They
moved to Middleton in 1950 where she taught the third grade
until her retirement in 1980.
She played the piano for many years and enjoyed oil
painting and other forms of art.
She was a member of the Middleton Third Ward Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by two daughters, Penny Manion of
Caldwell and Jorja Franks of Middleton; three sisters, Verda
Miller of Odgen, Utah, Dorothy McIntyre of Rigby and Rita
Williams of Price, Utah; four grandchildren; James and
Danielle Franks of Middleton and Stacy and Sara Manion of
Caldwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one
daughter.
Friends may call at the church Thursday from 3 p.m.
until time of service. |
