Services for Victor “Vic” Thomas Brewer, 55, of Caldwell, who
died Wednesday, Aug. 7, in a Caldwell hospital, will be
conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Flahiff funeral
Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Fred Behers of the Capitol
Church of God, Boise. Interment will follow at the
Hillcreast
Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell.
Mr. Brewer was born April 26, 1930, at Springview,
Neb. He spent his
early childhood years in
Nebraska
and South Dakota. He moved with his family to Long Pine,
Neb.,
where he attended school. The family moved in 1946 to Idaho,
where he lived in the Wilder and Marsing areas. In 1948 he
joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in June
1952. He returned to Idaho and married Mary Houtchens Oct.
13,1956, at Caldwell. The couple lived in Nampa until 1964.
He worked as a mechanic and also became active in the Boise
District Church of God. They moved in 1964 to Lewiston, where
he worked as a pastor at the Church
of God until 1968. He
was ordained in 1968 and returned to Caldwell where he
pastured for 14 years. In 1971 he began working for Parks &
Sons and later for Browning Ferris Industries, where he had
since been employed. He was a member of the Church
of God.
He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; a son, Steve
Brewer of Caldwell; three daughters, Vickie Wolf of Caldwell,
Dixie Brewer of Nampa and Debbie Koch of Caldwell; his father,
Claris Brewer of Wilder; four brothers, Lyle Brewer of Loomis,
the Rev. G. Frank Brewer of Nampa, Ronald Brewer of Sweet
Home, Ore., and Galen Brewer of Marsing; three sisters, Velma
Williams of Boise, Lillian Giambo of Payette and Dorothy
Letteer of Redlands, Calif.; a grandson Brandon Lynn Brewer;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother and a
granddaughter.
Friends may call today from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the
Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. |
