William Ashcraft

     Graveside services for William Dillard Ashcraft, 57, Notus, formerly of Cloverdale, Ore., who died Tuesday, April 30, at his home of natural causes, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lower Boise Cemetery, Parma, under the direction of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Parma.
     Mr. Olle Turnbow of Christmas Valley, Ore., will officiate.
     Mr. Ashcraft was born July 26, 1927, at Water Valley, Miss., the son of William Dillard and Illa May Panter Ashcraft.  His early years were spent in the South before coming to Idaho.
     He met and later married Mary Lou Cochran at Notus on June 28, 1947.  They moved to Burns, Ore., where he had a repair shop, trailer sales and restaurants and they resided and raised their family in Burns for 22 years.
     They had recently moved back to Notus from Cloverdale.
     He was a member of the BPOE Lodge at Lincoln City, Ore.
     He is survived by his wife of Cloverdale; one son, Dale Ashcraft of Burns; two daughters, Connie L. Weygandt of Cloverdale and Marie A. Masonheimer of Stanfield, Ore.; two brothers, Forest "Smokey" Ashcraft of Anchorage, Alaska, and L.C. Ashcraft of Reddingt, Calif.; four sisters, Ella Mae Downing of Notus, Betty Phillips of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Patty BGetts of Brea, Calif., and Liz Tibbs of Ashland, Ore.; nine grandchildren, two great-great grandchildrn, and several nieces and nephews.
     Memorials may be made to the Mercy Medical Center Hospice Program, 1512 12th Ave. Road, Nampa, 83651.
     Friends may call at the chapel from 4 to 9 tonight.
