Services for
W. Swan Belquist, 69, of Nampa, will be conducted Monday, Jan.
17, 1994, at 2:30 p.m. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
He died Wednesday, Jan. 12, at West Valley Medical
Center, of complications arising from cancer. Pastor
Jack Carpenter and Pastor Gunnar Sjoren of the Seventh-day
Adventist Church will officiate. Interment will follow
at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mr. Belquist was born June 7, 1924, in rural McKenzie County
North Dakota, only son of August and Minnie (Wheeler) Belquist.
He was reared and educated in McKenzie County, North Dakota,
and as a young man worked as a rancher.
He married Adeline Wachter on Sept. 15, 1957, in Wilson,
Michigan, making their home on the ranch in North Dakota until
moving to Pendleton, Oregon, in 1961. There, Swan worked
in the logging industry and as a mechanic in the surrounding
areas. In 1967, they moved to Hermiston, Oregon, where
he worked for Marlette Homes until moving to Caldwell in 1973.
Swan worked in carpentry in the Boise area then spent 15 years
working as a heavy truck mechanic at PureGro in Caldwell until
his retirement in 1988.
He enjoyed photography, reading, antique trucks and tractors,
traveling Northwest mountain areas - or anywhere the road led
- and will be remembered by his family as a fine musician.
He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the
Antique Truck Association and the Antique Tractor Association.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline, of Nampa; a son, Marvin
of Nampa; and a daughter, Pearl (Ric) Washburn of Snohomish,
Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggests that memorials be give to; Canvas Back Missions

Friends may call Monday from 9a.m. until service time
at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. |
