Zoe Brooks

     Zoe B. Brooks, 77, of Nampa, died Saturday, July 3, 1993, at an Edina, Minnesota, hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Rev. Tom Larson of the Nampa First United Methodist Church will officiate.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
       Zoe was born February 8, 1916, to Elmer and Donna Ensign Bestick at Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, where she was reared and educated.  She married Earl M. Brooks on September 25, 1941, at Ruby Valley
, Nevada.  Because of her husband’s involvement with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service they made their home in several states, including Nevada, Washington and California, before moving to Nampa.  They have made Nampa their home since 1967.
     Zoe was a member of the
Nampa First United Methodist Church.  She loved to read and enjoyed flowers, gardening and the outdoors.
      She is survived by her husband of Nampa; two sons, Bruce Brooks of Sandy, UT, and Bill Brooks of Nampa; two daughters, Becky Papike of Princeton
MN, and Mary Silverthorn of Seal Rock, OR; six grandchildren, Erin, Ben and Chris Brooks, Kari Papike, Jennifer and Julie Ross; and a great-grandson, Zackary Jordan.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
       The family suggests memorials be made to the Nampa First United Methodist Church building fund, 404 12th Ave. S., Nampa, ID 83651.
