Marie Mitchell
    Rosary for Marie W. Mitchell, 78, of 1000 N. Liberty, Boise, who died of natural causes Tuesday, Dec. 20, in a Boise hospital, will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Home, Boise.
    The Rev. William C. Dodgson of Bishop Kelly High School will officiate.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1515 Eighth St. S., Nampa, at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. James L, Pratt, S.M. as celebrant.
    Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Nampa.
    She was born in Mattoon, Ill., Nov. 7, 1905, the daughter of John F. and Nora V. Wissel. She moved to Nampa with her parents in 1911.  She attended Lone Star grade school, graduated from Nampa High School and received a master's degree in education from the College of Idaho.
    She taught at Guffey School at Murphy, and Sunny Slope at Caldwell until her marriage to George R. Mitchell on June 17, 1930.  They operated the Idaho Box Company in Nampa for several years.  Mr. Mitchell died in 1950.  She was a partner in the Wissel Tractor and Implement Company in Caldwell in 1951 and 1952.  She then taught at the Lakeview and Kenwood schools in Nampa from 1952 until her retirement in 1971.  She moved to Boise in 1971 where she resided at the time of her death.
    She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church; the Catholic Daughters of America; the Idaho Chapter of Catholic Golden Age; the Nampa Toastmistress Club; the Business and Professional Women's Club; the Tuesday Musicale; the Boise Philharmonic Guild; the Canyon County Historical Society; and the Nampa Association of Retired Teachers. She was a leader for the Junior Catholic Daughters and the Girl Scouts in Nampa for several years.  She presently worked as a volunteer at the St. Vincent dePaul Center in Boise.
    She is survived by two daughters, Joan Caldwell of Fremont, Calif., and Kaye Andrijeski of Boise; three brothers, Clare and Ralph Wissel of Nampa, and Leo Wissel of Boise; two sisters, Mildred Blackstock of Marsing, and Kitty Huf of Boise; eight grandsons; five granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
    Memorials may be made to Boy's Program care of Father Dodgson, 7009 Franklin Road, Boise, 83704, or to the Boise Valley Dance Teachers Association Scholarship Fund, care of Lloyd Carlton, 7121/2 W, Idaho, Boise, 83702, or to a favorite charity.
